- Do: Have Clearly-Set Objectives
This
might sound like a no-brainer to you but trust me most of your friends are
“just on” Facebook or Twitter.
The
first thing everyone should keep in mind before joining a social network is the
reason why he/she is joining the network. Why do you want to have a Google+
account? Why do you think LinkedIn will be a good fit for you? These are questions that should prompt you
to create an account with any network.
- Do: Have a Well-Polished Profile
After
joining a social site make sure the profile you create is at least satisfactory.
“Satisfactory” here means standard. Depending on what your objectives are then
knowing the type of account to create should be easy.
Also,
it will be good to ensure that your social goals are in line with your life
goals: career-wise, socially, etc. Because this is one aspect of your life and
so should be aimed at making it better. Otherwise it’s not worth the effort. It
would be disappointing if your goals included making enemies everywhere and
making people terrified so whatever we see when we visit your profile screams
“Murder! Murder!”
