Jimmy Kamande has been confirmed as Dhiren Gondaria's replacement in the
Kenyan cricket squad for the upcoming World Cricket League Division Two
tournament set for Namibia.
Gondoria broke his arm on a
motor bike last month and is expected to be out for close to four months.
Confirmed
"Cricket Kenya can confirm
that the selection committee alongside the technical staff has approved Jimmy
Kamande as a replacement player for Dhiren Gondaria in the national team for
the WCL tournament."
"Gondaria has been
replaced due to an injury he sustained while in India with his club in
December, after which recent medical tests were done and reports were received,”
a statement from the Cricket Kenya read in part.
Kamande was the team captain
during the 2011 World Cup co hosted by India, Bangladesh and South Africa.
