GOVERNOR WAMBORA SENT OUT BY THE HIGH COURT
Embu
Governor Martin Wambora loses his gubernatorial seat after the High Court rules
against his petition to retain his seat.
The
senators before had found Wambora guilty of the three charges brought against
him; gross violation of the Public Procurement and Disposal Act, violation of
the Public Finance Management Act and the gross violation of the Constitution.
The charges were in relation to the governors’ procurement of maize seeds,
which he distributed to the residents of the county but either failed to
germinate or had “at best” a germination rate of only 20 per cent;
improprieties in procurement for facelift of Embu Stadium and irregularities in
procurement for renovation of county offices.
The rulling was made today been on 11th of February 2015.
